I have an electric vehicle with a large battery, do I need a faster charger?
The size of the battery and the speed of the charger represent two independent concepts when discussing electric vehicles.
An electric vehicle only needs to replenish the energy consumed since the last charge, not the full battery capacity. This means that even if a vehicle is equipped with a 300kW battery (the largest available on the market), and the driver only uses it for short trips, such as a daily drive to the nearby supermarket, they can fully recharge the battery using a standard 120V outlet.
The choice of charger speed should be determined by the driver's lifestyle and usage patterns, not the battery capacity of the vehicle.
